Check-in and General Airport Regulations: The Fun Edition

Check-in Like a Pro:

  • Online Check-in: Do it wherever you can. Online check-ins can drop last-minute bombshells (a.k.a. vital info and changes) that you would otherwise miss. Think of it as getting a sneak peek at the script of your travel day.

Check-in Times: Remember, the early bird catches the flight! With all the new security and health screenings, fashionably early is the way to go. Here’s your cheat sheet:

  • Domestic NZ flights: Arrive 1 hour before departure. Yes, one hour! Time to perfect your speed-walking.
  • Trans-Tasman & Pacific flights: Be there 3 hours early. You know, just enough time for a power nap, a pre-flight snack, and a browse in duty-free.
  • Long Haul flights: 4 hours ahead. Bring a book, a board game, and maybe a new hobby to pass the time.

Auckland Airport Info:

  • Before you dash out the door, check your Auckland flight departure times here: Auckland Airport Departures. Save yourself from a Home Alone-style airport run!

Masks:

  • Ready, Set, Mask! Be prepared to don your mask before entering the terminal. Some airports are strict about this. And most airlines? They’ll make you wear one inflight. Just consider it your superhero disguise for the day.

Safe travels, mask up, and may your check-in be smoother than a perfectly crafted flat white!

Oh my gosh, we all had a fantastic day out. Thank you so much. I really didn’t expect to like all those weird and wonderful snacks during the "Curious Food Train" activity, and didn’t think they would all participate. The staff all keep thanking us for such a great day. Looking forward to next years event!
