Jun24: Whilst staying at Sukau Rainforest Lodge on our Borneo Wildlife Adventure, we will spend some time cruising along the Kinabatangan River, a natural treasure trove teeming with wildlife and lush rainforest landscapes.
As our boat gently glides along the rivers surface, you will be captivated by the symphony of sounds emanating from the surrounding jungle. The calls of exotic birds echoing through the dense foliage, while the occasional splash hints at the presence of elusive riverine creatures.
We are likely to encounter some of Borneo’s charismatic proboscis monkeys, with their distinctive long noses and potbellies, adding a touch of whimsy to the rainforest scenery. Marvel at the troops of these unique primates swinging effortlessly through the treetops, a testament to the region’s rich biodiversity.
The Kinabatangan River is also home to a plethora of other wildlife, including playful macaques, graceful orangutans, and even the rare pygmy elephants that occasionally emerge from the dense undergrowth.
At dusk, we will embark on a mesmerizing river cruise, witnessing the rainforest come alive with the symphony of nocturnal creatures, such as fireflies adorning the riverbanks like twinkling stars, casting an enchanting glow over the water.
The Kinabatangan River is a sanctuary where nature thrives, offering a glimpse into the untouched splendor of Borneo’s rainforest ecosystem.
