You, Me & Friends “Favourite Places” ***The Reliquiare Shop***

April 2023: “Taste of Tasmania Tour”

After a busy day shopping and visiting the zoo, indulging on ice cream at Dixie Blue Gelato, cheese and wine at Ashgrove cheeses, and chocolate and fudge tasting at Anver’s chocolate factory, we stopped at “The Reliquiare” – an incredible shop that had been recommended to us.

The “Reliquaire” in the little town of La Trobe is an enormous emporium of the weird and wonderful. It was filled to the brim with fantastical toys, games, and nick-nacks.

Imagine a 2.5 metre tall tyrannosaurus Rex stuffed toy, and various shining suits of armour standing around a red dragon. There was also a creepy Halloween cave through one door, with cheerful elves singing Christmas songs in the cave next door!

As you step into “The Reliquiare Shop”, the ambiance is akin to entering a time capsule where modernity meets tradition. The shelves are adorned with carefully selected items. From handmade jewellery to locally crafted ceramics, the shop is a treasure trove of one-of-a-kind pieces that capture the imagination. The shops charm extends beyond its merchandise, with the friendly and knowledgeable staff adding a personal touch to the visit, providing insights into the creations. It’s a place where you don’t just buy a souvenir, you take home a piece of wonder.

For travelers seeking something a little bit different, “The Reliquiare Shop” is a must-visit. It’s a celebration of local craftmanship, a showcase of creativity, and a reminder that the best souvenirs are the ones with a story to tell.

Reliquaire – Reliquaire

Oh my gosh, we all had a fantastic day out. Thank you so much. I really didn’t expect to like all those weird and wonderful snacks during the "Curious Food Train" activity, and didn’t think they would all participate. The staff all keep thanking us for such a great day. Looking forward to next years event!
