“Week in the Chathams” Tour

Hosted Tour from Whangarei – 8 Days / 7 nights – From $4490 share twin each

On our Week in the Chathams small group hosted tour, you will be picked up in the morning from your central Whangarei home and we will drive to depart Auckland Airport at 1.30pm and arrive into the Chathams at 4.30pm. We will be shuttled to our Lodge accommodation (where we will spend the next 7 nights). After check-in, we’ll meet for pre-dinner drinks, then dine at the Lodge.

During our stay, each day will start with breakfast at the lodge, then we will have 3 x full-day tours of the Island, and 3 days to explore the island ourselves in our minivan. During the three day-tours, we will be taken to see sights such as:
The ancient Hapupu Moriori Tree Carvings, The volcanic cones, the Old Stone Cottage, the basalt columns, Splatter Rock at Cape Young, the wreck of the Thomas Currell, the Awatotara bird Reserve, Blind Jims & Nikau Reserve, Henga Scenic Reserve and Nursery, the Admiral Gardens, Nunuku’s Cave drawings, and more!

During our days with the Mini-van we will explore the roads, and Galleries, and local eateries on the island. (On these days, you also have the opportunity to take an optional Pitt Island flight-tour).

On our day of departure, we grab our packed breakfast and head early to the airport to catch the 8.30am flight. We arrive into Auckland at 10.30am, then minivan back to arrive into our central Whangarei in the late afternoon.

Oh my gosh, we all had a fantastic day out. Thank you so much. I really didn’t expect to like all those weird and wonderful snacks during the "Curious Food Train" activity, and didn’t think they would all participate. The staff all keep thanking us for such a great day. Looking forward to next years event!
