Hosted Tour: 6 days / 5 nights

Start our unforgettable week with pick-up from central Whangarei homes and a drive to Auckland Airport. After a short flight we’ll arrive in Melbourne (5 nights) and settle into our centrally located accommodation. The next day, we hit the streets and ‘shop til we drop’ in the morning– discovering Melbourne historic arcades and modern-day shopping havens. That afternoon we make our way to the Southbank and take a cruise on the Yarra River.

Then on Day 3, it’s time for the Race the Stops a Nation – Australia’s Melbourne Cup! Don your best hat and get amongst the action with a pass to Flemington Racecourse – including access to the Front Lawn trackside! Have a flutter, enjoy the Fashion in the Field, or simply soak in the atmosphere, concluding of course with the Melbourne Cup race.

Day 4 we head to the Victoria Parliament Buildings – join your host for a tour of the buildings, then venture into the historic Fitzroy Gardens, classic Victorian-era parklands with surprises around every corner. That evening, we’ll head to one of Melbourne’s many theatres and enjoy a professional show.

Day 5, we start our day at the fabulous Queen Victoria Market – a large undercover market just perfect for bargain hunters and foodies alike. In the afternoon we head over to Carlton Gardens, home of the stellar Melbourne Museum complex. That evening enjoy some time at your leisure – you may want to take in an additional show or head to the Crown Casino.

The next morning, we’ll say goodbye to Melbourne, head out to the airport and fly to Auckland. There, we’ll meet our YMAF van and driver and travel seamlessly back to Whangarei for drop off.
