On the morning of Day one we are collected from our Whangarei homes and head south in our van. We stop at the Auckland Botanic Gardens and Classics Museum along the way before arriving at our accommodation in Hamilton (1 night).
The next day we continue south through the Waikato region, taking in quintessential small towns en-route such as Otorohonga, Te Kuiti and Taumaranui, with our second night stopover in Ohakune (1 night).
Day three sees us experience the National Army Museum in Waiouru, with a further break in Fielding, before we arrive in the Wairarapa region and check into our accommodation in Masterton (4 nights). Masterton is the base from which the whole of the Wairarapa can be explored.
Over the next three days, join your host in discovering the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of the historic Wairarapa area. Go across Masterton, Carterton, Greytown, Featherston and Martinborough from quirky museums to unique stargazing, from wineries and distilleries to artisan markets, from charming parks to striking arts, all introduced to you by some of the friendliest locals you will ever meet. The Wairarapa is a region that truly has more than meets the eye.
After a great few days in this fantastic area, take the shortcut home on Day seven with a flight from nearby Palmerston North right back to Auckland. Here you will be met by a fresh van and driver, ready to take you back to your Whangarei homes in time for supper.
