You, Me & Friends “Amazing Activities” ***Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre***

Jun24: On Day 9 of our Borneo Wildlife Adventure, we will visit the Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. Nestled in the lush rainforests, this Centre is a beacon of hope for one of our closest primate relatives. As you venture into this sanctuary, you will be amazed by the dedication of the staff and the profound impact of their conservation efforts.

The Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre serves as a haven for orphaned and injured orangutans, providing them with a safe environment to learn essential survival skills before being released back into the wild. Witnessing these majestic creatures up close is a humbling experience, as you observe their playful antics and interactions with caretakers.

One of the highlights of our visit will be the feeding session at 10am, where you will have the opportunity to observe the orangutans swinging gracefully through the trees to reach for their favorite fruits. It is a truly magical sight, offering a glimpse into the natural behaviors of these remarkable animals.  We will also get to visit the nursery to see the baby orangutans. Beyond orangutans, the center is also home to a variety of other wildlife species, including playful macaques and vibrant bird species.

As we bid farewell to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, you will be left with a renewed appreciation of the importance of conservation efforts in protecting our planet’s precious wildlife. It’s a sanctuary where hope thrives, offering a beacon of light for the future of orangutans and their fragile ecosystems.

Oh my gosh, we all had a fantastic day out. Thank you so much. I really didn’t expect to like all those weird and wonderful snacks during the "Curious Food Train" activity, and didn’t think they would all participate. The staff all keep thanking us for such a great day. Looking forward to next years event!
